Hey Friends, long time no see.
It's been a while since you've heard from us, but trust that we’ve been putting in the work. As you know, balancing all the moving pieces in life can be a challenge. While I have a deep love for creating content, it takes time, energy, and a lot of dedication to get it just right.
Poetic Neighbor was born from my passion for community, meaningful conversations, and connections. Building something truly impactful requires patience, care, and quite a few late nights. Every step of this journey has reminded me why I started Poetic Neighbor in the first place—because community matters, and so does creating a space for all of us to connect, grow, and support one another.
Though the social feeds have been a bit quiet, I’ve been pouring my heart into projects that I believe will bring us closer as a collective.
Here’s what’s been unfolding:
Refreshing the Brand:
Sometimes a second look is needed. Time has a way of evolving ideas into something new. I want to make sure the brand reflects the feedback and lessons I’ve learned while building a business around storytelling, Black social unification, and pride through fashion.
Planning for a Fashion Release:
I HEAR Y’ALL!! Hats are on the way, lol. I just want this to be something special and intentional. After much testing, I’ve finally found a local company I really like for embroidery. I don’t believe in putting out anything half-hearted. I want to ensure I bring you all quality products that last. The release of these will be special and may just require your participation. Be sure to join our newsletter for launch updates.
Joining the Helen Toland Foundation Board:
I was honored to join the board of the Helen Toland Foundation, where I’ve been assisting with event planning and marketing. It’s a great honor and responsibility. If you don’t know who Helen A. Toland is, I highly recommend checking out this article about our living legend.
Starting the Westside Farmers’ Market:
Over the past year, I’ve been deeply involved in leading and piloting the Historic Westside Farmers’ Market. Working directly with local farmers, producers, and small businesses to increase food access in the Westside has been a major highlight for me. Although I’ve stepped away from my role as Program Coordinator for this initiative, I hope to see it continue and thrive! There’s nothing like fresh produce straight from a farm—it’s magical.
Honing in on 2025 Event Planning:
More Rooted in Rhythms, open gatherings, markets, and curated spaces. Good things take time to plan, so I’ve been working on what it will take to pull everything off in 2025!
Bonding with the Community:
I take great pride in supporting the Westside by showing up to community events, gatherings, and conversations. This work directly impacts us all, and it’s being done by so many amazing groups. I encourage you to grab your friends, come to these events, and feel the energy. Don’t know where to start? Check out our Community Calendar!
If it’s been a little quiet,
It’s because I’ve been pouring love and energy into creating something special for all of us. I hope you can feel that in everything we do. It’s been a journey, but I am beyond excited to intentionally pour into Poetic Neighbor. It’s a ride I’m excited to take, and I hope to see you along the way.
Remember, I cannot do this work alone! If you’re interested in building together, please reach out!
Thank you for investing in me. ❤️
Much love,
Tee-Azha A
